Yiangos completed his architectural studies in 1993 at the Aristotelion University in Thessalloniki. He is a member of ETEK and the Architects Association of Cyprus (ΣAK).

Upon his arrival in Cyprus he joined akis charalambous partnership. In his first year he also served on behalf of the Municipality of Limassol and in collaboration with the Planning Department helped prepare and compose the Unitary Development Plan for the historic centre of the City of Limassol. In 1998 he was made a partner and a shareholder in akis charalambous architects ltd in 2008.

During his time there he has been involved in the design and delivery of some of the largest projects, both public and private, undertaken by the Practice. 

The projects varied in both scale and typology and notably include hotels such as the St. Raphael Resort Hotel Annexe and the refurbishment of the Holiday Inn Hotel, mixed use developments such as Vashiotis Hallmark and Kirzis Centre, residential developments that include Royal Sunset, Harmony House, and Princess Gardens, office developments such as D. Nicolaou Centre, Zavos Makariou Centre, offices for the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vashiotis Tower and Zavos Park Tower, showrooms for SAAB and Mercedes Benz, industrial projects for Medochemie and Y. Kokkinos. He has been involved in public projects such as the Limassol municipalities seafront walkway, and the secondary school in Livathkia. Yiangos has a huge amount of experience in conversion projects generally from hotels to apartments.

Over the last decade he has been responsible for wrangling the complex planning consents and delivering the projects to completion for Roussos Beach, Pegasus Beach, Ammos Beach all for the D. Zavos Group and Elena Beach Apartments for Karaolis Group.

In March 2014 he left akis charalambous partnership and set up HSC Architects with Rois Herodotou and Nicholas Shantos. Since setting up he has been involved in ascertaining and unlocking the development potential of a number of projects including a proposal for Cynthiana Hotel and a large seafront property in Akamas. He has been instrumental in securing planning consents for the refurbishment and extension of a mixed development scheme along the ‘Molos’, the refurbishment and extension of a five storey mixed use development (offices and residential) on Gladstonos Street, and a 5 storey mixed use development of retail and office accommodation adjacent to Dasoudi in Ayios Athanasios as well as a masterplan along the seafront opposite Dasoudi for a 10,000sm development.

Yiangos’s deep knowledge of the planning system and local and central government departments allows him to unravel complex planning scenaria and provide strategic advice to clients and developers.

Yiangos has a particular interest in the technical development of materials and the advancement of building envelope design and enjoys the careful detailing and expression of materials to create finely crafted buildings.
